Ulf Büntgen, Professor of Environmental Systems Analysis at the University of Cambridge, conducts fieldwork all over the globe to provide answers to his main research questions: What are the causes and consequences of past and ongoing changes in different, though often intertwined environmental systems, including timely aspects of biology, ecology, climatology and even history, across a wide range of spatial and temporal scales; and how can a diversity of tree-ring archives, parameters and techniques be best used to provide scientific answers to such and related inter- and cross-disciplinary research questions of societal relevance?
